Every year I look forward to not only the trip to the lower 48 but the chance to become re-inspired.
January for photographers is truly dedicated for us to re-group and organize our upcoming new year for business. This time around it did just that. Not only did I indulge in a mega dose of Vitamin D from the lack of sunshine here in the deep winter of Alaska, I also took a break away from routine to gather my thoughts. The question really is just this: How do I take my business one step further? Every year, I find that one thing that brings me to an agreement among my inner voice speaking to me, sometimes just to annoy me (yes, I sometimes listen too). After 13 years of being in this amazing industry, I have come to a decision. As of today, I have declared my candidacy and will be taking the next few months studying hard to pass my certification through PPA. This is that leap that I need to hold on to in order for my business and my knowledge in photography to soar. I have been riding on the edge for a few years now and I believe this is the ticket for me. Here is to looking forward to becoming Jody Thomas, CPP! And here is to all my other fellow togs who are there to push me along and give me the confidence to go for it! Thank you San Antonio for opening up a new adventure for me! Thank you Imagaing USA!!!
One of the major highlights of my trip is one piece of advice that I could give right now for any of my fellow togs who are looking to expand their business, take it from my experience: Marathon Press MAP program works and is amazing! They have such a personal touch, love to help your business grow and when you are in a rut, they are right there to pick you up! Every chance I get, I take an image of my facilitator, Tina, at the show. It is such a pleasure to see her face after a whole year of just hearing her voice. Go Marathon Press!!
Until next year….. see you in Nashville!
