- Play on regular difficulty or expert
- Defeat the Boss in under 2 minutes and 10 seconds
- Make sure your HP is not below 3
- Parry 3 objects during the fight
- Use 6 Cards from the Super meter (you have to hit enemies to count), you can also use a super ability + 1 card
Playing on Expert and doing everything required will give you an S-Rank. While playing on regular and fulfilling a minimum of 2 more requirements can give you at least (A-), assuming you are close to fulfilling the other requirements. For a guaranteed A-Rank, play on regular and achieve 3 other requirements.
Below is a description of all the main 5 fights and some recommendations.
Can be found in the mountain on the top right of the isle. The Crackshot and the Converge weapons are preferred for this fight, and it consists of three phases as follows:
Phase 1 |
This phase has the giant's beard as the floor with gnomes under it. These gnomes will show up and damage if you stand on the floor forcing you to stay on the pillars the entire time. The pillars will go up by the gnomes which can get you hit if you're not careful enough. When he opens his mouth, you can see a few gnomes make poison in a pot, and steam clouds from the pots will move to the right at 3 different altitudes. Some of them may be pink so parry those if you can. The giant can also bring a dog from the left side of the screen, which can be dodged by simply standing on the two pillars to the right. The last form of attack in this phase is the swarm of birds called by the giant. Standing on a lower pillar is the key to avoiding them but the gnomes might raise it up so you need to quickly switch to a different pillar. Use the Converge for this phase.
Phase 2 |
The giant uses two puppets on both sides of the screen to throw a ball from one hand to the other. All while gnomes jump from beneath the floor which can be seen for a few seconds before they show up. Note that the puppets are what can be damaged during this phase. Use the Converge for this phase.
Phase 3 |
You'll get swallowed by the giant to fight against his uvula While jumping on 5 skeleton heads. The uvula will throw bones on the skeleton heads to sink them so you need to jump to a different one. Once there are 2 skeleton heads, one of them will open his mouth and ring what looks like pink bells. You have to parry those to make all skeleton heads show up again. Those parries do not count for the final results so keep that in mind. Use the Crackshot to focus more on platforming.
You can start this fight from the bottom left of the map. There is no recommended loadout since this fight is done by using the plane.
Phase 1 |
The only level on this island where you fight the boss using the plane. The boss is a cow riding a moving saloon which covers almost half of the screen on the right. He can shoot ink bullets that go back to the right at first the charge at you. Alongside the ink bullets, a small horse flying from the right to the left will spit a projectile when it reaches the left side. Some of these projectiles are pink so make sure you parry them. The boss will also use a hogtie to bring a large cactus that covers the bottom half, or the upper half of the screen. Every once in a while, a vulture will come in on the top to throw a piece of dynamite that splits into 3 parts when it explodes then another 2 parts a second later.
Phase 2 |
Winchester will use a vacuum to suck gold and bags of money and then throw safes filled with this gold and money from the top of the screen. Shrink yourself if you have trouble dodging the safes.
Phase 3 |
The cow transforms into a sausage-like animal and throws large beef at you. Beef can be pink so parry them if you still didn't get 3 parries. Another thing on the screen is the flying cans of sausage that can open up or down based on the opening of the can. Dodge those by either flying away from them or flying on the closed side of the can.
Phase 4 |
The cow enters a can of sausage and spread shot peppers with 2 sausage parts pour out infinitely while moving up and down, and the only way to avoid getting hit is by moving across the narrow part of each sausage part. While you can still parry pink peppers, it's better not to parry them to avoid getting distracted and then getting hit by the sausage parts.
You can enter this fight from the ice building on the bottom right of the map. Equip the Converge and Crackshot as your weapons. There are 3 phases in this fight as follows:
Phase 1 |
During this phase, the boss will be flying on top and moving sideways while he throws calling cards at you or some moving ice pickles. Occasionally, he may do a slam attack using a big orange whale. Calling cards can be pink and they are the only objects that can be parried in this phase. For a faster completion time, use the Converge during this phase.
Phase 2 |
A big ice man/refrigerator will spawn and send ice popsicles that come flying towards you. Some are pink so try to parry them. When he transforms into a refrigerator, he will throw ice cubes that split into smaller pieces. Furthermore, he will roll from one side of the screen to the other which can be avoided by invincible rolling instead of jumping, as sometimes he will jump while rolling. Another attack is summoning 4 swords that show up from under the floor. You can jump or just stand between them since there is enough space. For a faster completion time, use the Converge during this phase.
Phase 3 |
The boss will transform into an octangular ice creature while having you jumping on constantly rotating platforms. He uses 3 attacks:
- Pop his eye that will send a vertical beam three times
- Send 3 buckets that will explode in 3 small lunar particles. One bucket will be pink and thus, can be parried.
- Summon 4 ice cones that move to the center of the screen.
Use the Crackshot here so you can focus more on dodging incoming attacks.
This fight takes place in the air and you will be on an airplane. Standing on either side of the plane will move it to that side. It's recommended to bring the Crackshot as your weapon. There are 3 phases as follows:
Phase 1 |
The boss is a big dog in a plane on top of the screen and he has 2 attacks which he drops on the sides first. His first attack is throwing 3 bone parts across the screen and then going back to him. These bones can be parried. The second attack is by holding a cat and making it throw 3 sewing balls, that can dodge by ducking (). All of this happens while smaller dogs riding the plane throw 3 tennis balls each time they show up. Keep using the Crackshot and focus more on dodging the attacks.
Phase 2 |
A short phase of 4 flying dogs moving around you and throwing letters at you which some can be parried.
Phase 3 |
This phase has 2 sub-phases:
- When you're at the bottom or the top of the screen, multiple lasers will show up from the sides and shoot beams of energy. They are going to show up 3 times with the last one being directed at your feet which can be parried. Don't attempt to parry it if you're playing as Chalice.
- When you're at the sides of the screen, the lady dog will send red and yellow bowls. The reds are aimed at your feet so jump to avoid them, while the yellows are a little higher so you can duck. If both a red and a yellow bowl are about to hit you, then double jumping is your best option.
This fight is going to be against a gang of bugs. While the Crackshot is the best, It's recommended to bring the Converge as your weapon for a faster completion time. There are 3 phases and 1 secret phase that can take you off-guard:
Phase 1 |
The boss here is a spider creature moving from side to side and from one floor to the other. He stops for a brief time to drop poison bags marked with dead skulls. He occasionally brings a worm and kicks it so it bounces from the edges of the screen. A few flying minion bugs can spawn in the center and these can be killed. A police bug will appear from the edges to throw smoke rings that can be parried if they're pink.
Phase 2 |
The ladybug dancing in the center stage is the boss of this phase and she is the one who you should be attacking. In addition to this, a gramophone in the center stage will be releasing 2 bundles of musical lasers, that are rotating opposite each other. Each bundle has 3 lines of these lasers, and they can only damage you when they're red. They will turn yellow as a warning to get ready to dodge. There are 2 ways of dodging these lasers:
- the first way is by standing in the center of the lower stage and then doing an invincible roll when the laser is about to hit you.
- The second is by going up and down while moving clockwise or anti-clockwise depending on the laser movement.
Phase 3 |
Starts with a snail standing on top of an anteater and he can be damaged during these few seconds. After that, the anteater will start to attack you using his nose-tongue which is his weak spot. He switches sides after each attack so you can go to the opposite side to avoid being hit. Stay on the floor under the platforms and only jump up if he's about to extend his tongue on floor level. The tongue can be parried and will count toward the total. Each attack is followed by releasing a ball of bugs that keep bouncing until defeated. Once done, the game will show the knockout sign but be careful, it's a bait and the fight is not over yet.
Phase 4 |
A very short phase having the snail blow some projectile at you that can be parried. Use the Crackshot in this phase and it should be over after blowing his third projectile.
